A wonderful thanksgiving with children and 11 grandchildren for which I am truly thankful. That includes the one daughter and 4 more grandchildren who could not make it but were much thought of. Also a son-in-laws sister and brother in law so a full house. Plus my brother in law came in spite of some crippling health problems. My other son was in hospital but got home the following day. Lives do get complicated which keeps life interesting. A new Bishop who is my HT companion (which will probably change). We have enjoyed over 3 years together- he will make a great Bishop. He just retired so has time to serve.
As usual I am reading so would like to recommend a couple. "The Latter-day Saint Experience in America."Terryl Givens is a professor in Virginia who has published 2 acclaimed books about the BofM by Oxford Univ. Press. This book was published earlier as part of a series on religion in America intended for college students and libraries. I think it is the best introduction to the Church for non-LDS I have ever read. Published by Greenwood press it was priced at $60 and the cheapest I could find on Bookfinder was $34- but well worth it if you want to see a scholarly defense of the Church which handles all of the problems that others bring up.
